Club Announcement
Richard Pleace Senior
It is with huge sadness that we announce the death of Richard Pleace Senior.  Nothing we can say here can express how important he was to Liss Cricket Club, or how important the Club was to him.  Richard was the life and soul of the Club and welcomed everyone who came to play here.  His sense of humour was second to none and every member of the Club will have their own personal memories of the fun times he brought to their lives.  Richard was above all a man who treasured his family beyond anything else and our thoughts are with them at this very sad time.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday 26 April at 3.15pm at The Oaks Crematorium, Bartons Road, Havant, Hampshire PO9 5NA and afterwards at The Royal British Legion, Rake Road, Liss GU33 7EF.  His wishes were that people wear colour rather than black to mark his colourful life.  Richard will be leaving from his beloved Liss Cricket Club for his final away game and anyone who would like to meet there at 1pm can join us for a drink before he sets off.
Family flowers only - donations if desired to be made to Liss Cricket Club to help with the fundraising for a much needed new pavilion.  Cheques can be sent to Michael Miller & Partners, 27a High Street, Petersfield, Hampshire GU32 3JR.
About Liss Cricket Club

Liss Cricket Club is situated in East Hampshire with a picturesque setting of the privately owned Glebe ground.

Since 2010 the club has been rebuilding and last season the 1st team sustained their place in the league and are again playing this year in Hampshire County Div 3 North. The club's 2nd Saturday league team is now in its 3rd season and are currently competing in Regional Div 3. The usual Sunday side still play regular friendlies and a midweek team participating in evening leagues and cups.

The First XI are now competing in Hampshire County Division 3 North. Packed full of youth and talent, we have some new players joining our ranks and the new look Saturday team are looking for another major promotion push over the next season to return back to County Division 2.

The 2nd XI are in Regional Div 3. This gives us the opportunity to build the club further allowing new players to join and allow the youth to mix with experience. This year is all about building on the last couple of seasons and bringing on the younger players for the good of the club.

The Sunday team play a mixture of teams over the season, competing against teams from a various standard of cricket. Always full of fun and laughs but with a positive outlook on still winning the game. Sundays are an integral part of Liss Cricket Club where any new players wanting to play are always very welcome.

After 2 seasons of training, the Colts have entered U11 and U15 teams into the SEHCA league and will be playing their first season of competition for a few years.  We are really excited about this and are welcoming new players to the club.

Anyone interested in joining the club as an adult, junior or non playing member please feel free to come along to any fixture (fixture dates can be found on this website), alternatively please call Chris Allcock on 07825374107 / 01730892911.  We welcome dogs to the ground but ask that owners keep them under control at all times.
