Sunday XI
Phil Moore Member profile

Captain : Phil Moore

Phil had a good season in 2016. A batsmen on the up, Phil is improving year on year and will be looking to build on his run total in 2016. He has great ability in the field and has the safest hands in the team. This year he is also being let loose with the ball and if he can pitch it in the batsmen's half he will be a threat. Phil's confidence is growing with every game and will be a great asset to the club.
Chris Allcock Member profile

Vice Captain : Chris Allcock

Chris is Liss CC through and through and gives his all each week. You know what your going to get when Chris is at the crease with an ability to score runs quickly and change an innings. The defensive side of his game may need some work but with solid players around him his aggressive tactics can play to Liss's advantage. He always gives 100% in the field and will never give up the chase. Chris is team manager in 2017 and will look to organise the team for Captain Jack.
Players
Shaun Blanks Member profile Shaun Blanks
Shaun had a good season with the ball in 2016, and was the leading wicket taker. Shaun has a huge amount of potential and keeping a calm head for him is key this year. No doubt he will be a player to watch with both bat and ball if he can channel his aggression in to runs and wickets.
Ian Brownlee Member profile Ian Brownlee
Ian is a great player to have in any side. He is a solid wicket keeper and is a fantastic club man. His middle order anchor innings can be worth their weight in gold when all around him have lost their heads. Ian has also been uncovered as a great 6-a-side bowler.
Dave Chambers Member profile Dave Chambers
Turtle resembles the FA Cup to a T, but on the cricket resembles Sydney Harbour Bridge. Always good for selection in the 1's for a laugh, but belongs in the 3's at best! Turtle will be looking to get his hands on one of the most prestiege club awards at the end of season dinner dance....The Duck Bat.
Liam Charles Member profile Liam Charles
Liam is the gentle giant of Liss. He has great ability with the ball and will look to increase his wicket tally in 2017. His energy and encouragement is good for the team and will always be around at the end of an innings to slap it around.
Matty Evans Member profile Matty Evans
Matty Evans is playing his first season for the league side. This young cricketer has a lot of talent with the ball and is proving he can mix it with the big boys. He has a lot to learn but is a willing player and is not afraid to get stuck in. Matty is certainly one for the future and will improve with each game he plays.
Jack Hannam Member profile Jack Hannam
Captain Jack has taken over the 1st team in 2017. Jack's energy in the field is second to none, this may be down to there being Monster and red bull running through his veins. Jack will bring his experience of captaining local rivals Petersfield and will hopefully continue the form he built on in 2016.
Max Harrison Member profile - no photo available Max Harrison
Max has the ideal attitude for all sportsmen! He is 100% keen! He loves and applauds every run, wicket, ball or shot that a Liss CC player performs. A newcomer to the game in his 20's, he will look to develop his talents in 2008.
Chris Hedicker Member profile Chris Hedicker
Fearless captain, anchoring the number 11 spot, Christian can be relied upon for his quality scoring (with the pen as opposed to the bat), and solid medium pace bowling. His unparalleled winning record (tosses, not matches) is the envy of all other clubs.
Jacob Hedicker Member profile Jacob Hedicker
Jacob was a regular in 2016. A bowler with great potential played for the club as a colt and is now a key player for the first team. Jacob is improving with every game and his bowling is really helping Liss push forward. Jacob is no mug with the bat either and can score crucial lower order runs with his variety of hockey strokes.
Steve Johns Member profile - no photo available Steve Johns
Steve aka Johnsy aka Lego has been a member for a few years now and has been a great servant to the club. He is currently a 1st team middle order batsman that often adds vital runs with his unique batting style. Always good for team moral Steve keeps the side going in the field.
Gavin Kemp Member profile Gavin Kemp
Gavin is a hard hitting batsman that can tear apart an opposition attack. Gavin will be looking to really impose himself this year and keep the opposition on the back foot scoring plenty of runs on the way. Taking over as keeper this years gives him the opportunity to get his trampoline hands out.
Steve May Member profile - no photo available Steve May
A steady opening batsman who has been with the 2nd XI since 2015, Steve will be looking to build upon his sturdy starts and convert them to big runs. An excellent close fielder, who used to play in goal, Steve has taken some brilliant catches in close at slip or gully.
Richard Pleace Jnr Member profile Richard Pleace Jnr
Richard had another good season last year scoring 658 league runs and averaging 65.80. Year upon year rick has broken his own and other batting records in the league and within the club, and yet again in 2016 claimed the league batting award. A superb temperament means he is almost impossible to remove. His bowling is not bad either and is always handy to have in reserve. After 20 years of being 1st team captain Rick has stepped down. In 2017 he can relax and really concentrate on scoring some runs.
Richard Pleace Snr Member profile Richard Pleace Snr
The life and soul of Liss cricket club whether playing or in the bar after the game. He strikes fear into the opposition batsmen with his flighted deliveries and can hold up an end when needed.Taking a total of 31 league wickets in 2013 Snr showed its not all about pace but experience as well. Richard has done a massive amount for Liss over the years and still continues to give (even if it is with awful jokes and money behind the bar!)...
Jake Southam Member profile Jake Southam
In recent years Jake has transformed himself into a hard hitting batsman playing the David Warner type role; opening the batting and attempting to get the team off to as quick a start as possible. Deceptively agile and nimble Jake is an excellent all round fielder who on his day can produce breathtaking pieces of fielding.
